We Are Children of God

Just after the turn into the 21st century, Susan and I we called to serve in our church's "Primary," for children 4 to 12 years of age.Susan was the chorister and found ingenious ways to teach the children our church's songs composed and edited just for children, and some hymns.

My assignment was to accompany on the piano. As good fortune would have it, our "President" like the way I would improvise on some of the songs. This eventually led to me improvising background music for various lessons by sundry teachers. For example, I would speed up or slow down, crescendo and decrescendo, and then make up a few tunes to match recurring themes.

For one very special Saturday morning teaching marathon, we were asked to compose a short work suitable for and supplementing the theme of the special event. In this case, it was to help us all prepare for the ground-breaking of one of our world-wide temples in the greater Sacramento area.
