Quiet Spirit
Vanessa McClintock

Originally composed circa 1982, this is a short, straight-forward work originally intended for oboe, French horn, and string quartet—with the option for organ or piano instead.

This version is for English Horn and string quartet but is shown with the condensed score for keyboard accompaniment. The full score with parts for the soloist and quartet is an option for downloading.

Quite Spirit is a meditative work portraying the special spirit of a Sweet Miss that was both delicate, and astutely fierce, one that could create wonderful yet subtle tensions by nimbly scaling great heights in pursuit of her goals.

This is intended for a contemplative atmosphere--possibly a church setting.

Performance time: approximately 2'32"
